Do You Keep Replaying The Past?

Maybe you woke up today and thought, “life is not going the way I wanted it to go, but I don’t know how to just be me, who am I really?”

At times, when trauma has occurred, it is difficult to see your true self. You may be bombarded from the past, not sleeping well because the thoughts just keep replaying. Unable to finish that project or finish that book because you get lost and drift away. Maybe it’s just getting harder to focus on the present and you are finding yourself missing out on the little moments.

The truth is that it’s not only your mind that holds these memories, your body holds them too. You may noticed a stiff neck, body aches, tired all the time. Your body communicates to you the best it can, but, when you have experienced trauma it is difficult to listen to your body. You might experience it is difficult to trust your judgment and engage in patterns that are not your fault but has been present because you haven’t truly been able to process what really happened.

If not addressed, Trauma can continue to affect your life and the lives of those around you. It’s time to make the choice to heal for you and for your loved ones.

How Trauma Therapy Can help?

You can heal yourself. The mind and body are ever changing and growing. I help by providing you with tools, guidance, and a safe place you need to be able to process your trauma.

Trauma therapy focuses on:

  • Developing healthy effective coping skills and building on your resources

  • Reconnecting your mind and body

  • Processing the memories that your mind and body are holding

  • Building new neurological pathways to help with healing old wounds

  • Increase your ability to trust yourself in anything that you do

We will work together through this process. My approach is a combination of Talk therapy (CBT) and non-talk therapy modalities (CRM, EMDR, Tapping) to help you get to where you want to be

Frequently asked questions about Trauma

  • Trauma therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on helping an individual process past events.

  • There are many modalities that focus on processing trauma. I am trained in Comprehensive Resourcing Model (CRM), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and two forms of Tapping. All of these modalities have research that support their efficacy. They all focus on processing trauma without having the individual talk about the trauma.

  • The process varies case by case.

For some, a few sessions is enough.

For others, they desire a longer-term therapeutic journey.

In trauma therapy it is important to move slowly, to honor whatever the pace is fastest for the individual.
